Buffelsdrift Game Lodge is located in the spectacular Klein Karoo just outside Oudtshoorn, offering guests a true African experience combined with unique, understated elegance in luxury tented-accommodation.
Closer to nature you’re not likely to get. With uninterrupted views of the Swartberg Mountains and a magnificent waterhole teeming with wildlife, this is pure, untouched nature right on your doorstep.
The lodge is located 6.5 km from Oudtshoorn, just 300m from the main road leading to the Cango Caves and an abundance of exciting things to do and see in the area. The lodge’s large wooden deck provides the ideal lookout to spot our elephants walking the grounds, hippo and fish in the water and a range of game grazing on the opposite bank.
Our 34 free-standing luxury tents are all equipped with an en-suite bathroom, private outdoor shower, air-conditioning, digital safe and its own game viewing deck. Spoil yourself to a beautiful retreat and an unforgettable wildlife experience.

Luxury Waterhole Accommodation (9 units):
Wonderfully tranquil and private, our 9 waterhole units are set right on the waterhole, each with its own private sundeck. Here you can unwind and relish in the striking beauty of the surrounding bushveld with incredible views of the wildlife grazing on the banks of the waterhole.
Luxury ( Horizon View ) Accommodation (20 units):
Set a bit further from the waterhole and surrounded by true Karoo fynbos, our horizon view luxury tents have elevated views of the whole lodge area, with sprawling vistas and pristine natural beauty as far as the eye can see.
Luxury Family Accommodation (5 units):
If an unforgettable family getaway is on your agenda, our luxury family tents are the ideal choice. Admire stunning elevated views of the bushveld, mountains and 5 hectare waterhole with hippos taking their daily bath and various game species grazing the banks. With spacious main room, kids’ room and shared en-suite bathroom, this accommodation option can comfortably accommodate a family of five. The tents are surrounded by beautiful Karoo fynbos and set within walking distance of the waterhole.
