Our lodges, all in a beautiful and natural setting inside Bellevue Forest Reserve in Greater Addo, guarantees guests breath taking views of the rolling hills, landscapes and most majestic sunrises and sunsets. For nature lovers the lodges features the opportunities to see wild animals from very close and or from our viewing decks.

Backed by luxury accommodation – where comforts, service, food and wine are equally well-considered – this is a safari in style, an African original. Elephants Lodge

On the ancient paths once trodden by elephants, the five-roomed thatched Lodge offers large, beautifully appointed rooms, with a maximum total of 12 people accommodated. Perfect for families, the focus is on comfort, convenience and pampering.
Each unit has a King size bed (or twin ¾ beds), en-suite shower and toilet with glass walls inviting the views and sunlight inside. Sliding doors lead off each room onto a wide patio and indigenous gardens, offering sweeping views over dense misty forests. Private seating throughout the garden areas encourages commune with nature in this awe-inspiring landscape.

Rooms are well-equipped with amenities such as personal safes, cooling fans, hair dryers and tea/ coffee stations.

Public areas include a well-stocked bar, indoor and outdoor lounges and dining areas and a wide sundowner deck overlooking the forest. Excellent high-speed Wi-Fi is freely available throughout the lodge. However, the absence of television encourages guests to connect and engage fully with their surroundings.

Rooms are available on either a Bed-and-Breakfast or fully catered basis. All-inclusive packages include two activities daily, or these can be added individually.
An alternate accommodation option at Elephants Lodge is our luxury en-suite tents, furnished in the finest glamping style and situated high on the mountainside with private decks overlooking the beautiful surroundings.

Luxury Double Room

A double room with a queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom. Each bedroom is equipped with tea- and coffee-making facilities, overhead fan, radio, heater, safe and toiletries.

Elephants Lodge Safari Tent

Enjoy breathtaking views of the reserve from your private timber decks, where these en-suite tents with thatched roofs and wooden flooring promise a unique Safari experience.

Stargazer Camp

Shielded by the enveloping forest deep in the game reserve, spend a night or two under the open sky in a cocoon of luxuriously soft bedding. Walls and roofs are replaced by trees strung with twinkling lights and the only barrier between you and nature is the gauzy film of draped netting – but mosquitoes won’t be bothering you here. The whisper of the trees will hush you to sleep, the magical illumination of a billion stars offer a skylight view like no other.

Count shooting stars as they cross the mighty Milky Way arching above. A more romantic setting would be hard to come by and the sheer adventure of the experience is unbeatable.

Stargazer is properly off the grid and runs on green principles. With only three ‘suites’ spaced far enough apart for total privacy and separated by a central, cosy fire pit, guests feel alone in the vast universe. Winding sand paths, outdoor showers and toilets form part of the experience.

Stargazer Camp is exclusively for adult guests, and includes delicious African cuisine served under the boughs of majestic trees along with chef and butler service. A genuine five-star guest adventure!

Stargazer

The Stargazer Camp is ideal for audacious visitors to Africa looking to explore authentic overnight safari options offering a very rustic, camp atmosphere in a carbon free environment.The camp is located inside one of Bellevues forgotten railway culverts.

Giraffe Tracking Safaris

Possibly the most distinctive animal of all, the skyscrapers of Africa dominate the treetops of our bushveld. An exhilarating, authentic African experience is to join a giraffe tracking safari on foot in our 2500-hectare private game reserve.

Tooth and Claw Safaris

Guests are treated to close encounters with a large variety of game species, including lion, elephant, buffalo, zebra, rhino, crocodile and many more. Drives are guided by an experienced and knowledgeable game ranger in comfortable open-air safari vehicles.

Scenic Flights

An incredible adventure that can be organised through Bellevue Forest Reserve for our guests is the opportunity to take a helicopter flight over the visually stunning Eastern Cape region, taking in the extraordinary combination of dense bushveld and terrestrial wildlife, together with the vast dunes and coastline.

Wellness and relaxation are key attractions during a visit to Bellevue Forest Reserve. While we are working on developing our own inhouse Wellness Centre, guests at present can make use of the facilities of the Addo Indlovu Spa, situated in the nearby Addo Elephant National Park.
