The gin bar is our pride and specialty though. This was our biggest challenge and the one we most wanted to achieve. It is an unknown concept in the heart of farmland in the rural areas but we decided to go all out on this one and it was a case of “if not, why not?”

The need was there for tourists to experience something different but more than that, we wanted to learn yet another new exciting experience. If city folk can do it, we can do it. So it started and it is an immensely rewarding roller coaster ride of learning and experiencing new things on a daily basis.

The possibilities are endless and such fun: we have learnt though to never compromise on standards and integrity. At Gypsy’s, attention to detail, high standards and customer satisfaction is key: this for us is totally non-negotiable. A happy journey and we have met some amazing people along the way.

We do try to offer a true magpie’s nest of different services at Gypsy’s with the aim of achieving a relaxed atmosphere and a happy place for visitors. We have a colourful, large ‘stoep’ area from which to enjoy magnificent mountain views over a cup of coffee, a delicious meal or an indulgent G&T.

There are comfortable arm chairs in which to relax with a good book: we offer a free book exchange, there is a deli and gift shop to browse, our bar is a must see.

We do try to be a one-stop shop and make visitors feel at home. Our resident cat, Chilli, is convinced of the same and would love to meet you. Pop in and say hi to her! We have an ‘old’ Uber from the 70’s: come and see our funky yellow hippy mini! A draw card for young and old alike.

We also try to grow our own vegetables and don’t be surprised to see chickens on the property: our suppliers of fresh, free range eggs. This is Gypsy’s: be prepared for something out of the ordinary when you visit but expect to come as a stranger and leave as a friend. We are biker, pet and child friendly.

Our aim is to introduce you to the different tastes and flavours we have picked up during our own ‘Gypsy’ travelling days. As with everything associated with Gypsy’s we try and bring ‘different’ to a plate: colour, exotic tastes and flavours to tantalise your taste buds.
