Grundheim opened its Wine house in April 1994 and sold its very first sweet wine under its own trade mark. A visit to Grundheim today you will be greeted by the two ladies in charge. Just outside Oudtshoorn you will find the vineyards of Sandkoppies, home of Grundheim Wines, founded in 1858. Six generations of have farmed here for over a century. The farm uses a historic wine cellar with a history that dates back to over 100 years. Grundheim is famous for its use of opentank fermentation. From bottling to labeling, everything is still personally supervised and we are especially known for our Witblitz and Brandy that’s made in a traditional distillery. Our label shows a bull terrier signifying the bite and grip you will get from witblits.
