BARRYDALE ACCOMMODATION

BRONZE GROVE FARM & CHALETS

TOP CLASS BARRYDALE ACCOMMODATION

The Williams Family welcome you to Bronze Grove and invite you to enjoy all that it has to offer. We took ownership of this farm in 2003. It had been badly neglected and left dormant for many years but after much hard work it has once again become a working farm, concentrating on olives.

Bronze Grove, about 3km from Barrydale, is situated at the foothills of the Langeberg Mountain Range and incorporates part of the famous Tradouw Pass. We have, purely for our viewing pleasure, introduced zebra, wildebeest and various other antelope who roam freely with geese, chickens and Nguni cattle around the beautiful fynbos covered veld.

Our staff are friendly and welcoming, offering you the opportunity to wonder around Bronze Grove absorbing the natural earthy pleasures of farm life.

OUR ACTIVITIES

Besides pure relaxation and the rejuvenating of body and soul there are a number of activities to enjoy at Bronze Grove.

Swimming in the big farm dam and little river is a welcome exercise during the summer months. Small mouth bass fishing on a catch and release basis is always a thrill for the ardent fishermen.

A rustic bird hide on the dam allows the avid bird watcher an opportunity to view some of the many species around, a pair of black eagles and a fish eagle included.

We have compiled a bird list, available from reception, of birds that have already been positively identified in the three echo systems of Bronze Grove, namely, riverine, fynbos and karoo vegetation.

While ambling along the paths or hiking through the fynbos along the mountain slopes you will possibly detect just enough evidence to be aware of the natural predators that lurk high up in the mountains.

Barrydale, in the klein karoo, is a delightful quaint little village situated on the popular tourist route, Route 62. It is said to be maybe one of the longest wine routes in the world. In the village there are a number of fun restaurants where these wines can be enjoyed together with a delicious meal while chatting to the locals and soaking up their heartfelt hospitality.
